Welcome

Whatever your heritage project, no matter the size, we can help you

WHY?
Tatraglass wants your building to look beautiful.
By supplying the correct period glass, we are passionate about making every home look its best.

Unlike some other restoration glass suppliers, our glass is all made by crafts people using traditional method.

HOW?
We have excellent contacts with traditional manufacturers across Europe and the experience to offer an unrivalled range of specialist restoration glass covering every period.

WHAT?
You can feel confident in using our glass. Tatraglass is acknowledged by historical and planning bodies as an authentic substitute to maintain the aesthetic of period properties. We have supplied glass for conservation projects up and down the UK, restoring Grade I and II listed properties, iconic country estates, royal palaces, the National Trust, English Heritage, and unlisted properties.

Our specialist antique and heritage restoration glass is made using traditional methods.

We offer three Heritage glass sheets, Heritage Mouth Blown Cylinder, Heritage Drawn 3 & 3+, and Heritage Drawn 4.5, all supplied in a choice of:

  • Single glazed sheet

Or, paired with high thermal rated safety glass with UV filtering:

  • Heritage ECO Laminated
  • Heritage Double Glazed units

With our Heritage ECO Laminated and Heritage Double Glazed ranges we combine traditional glasses with hi-specification eco glass to keep the heat in and help protect furniture from fading. Giving you a choice of conservation grade solutions to perfectly fit the glass frames in your restoration project, while providing excellent levels of thermal insulation and UV protection.

From supplying a single pane to completely restoring the glasshouse at Kew Gardens our Tatraglass team are expert in advising, supplying, and fitting, whichever you require.

How our Heritage range works:

It’s easy to spot genuine heritage glass by its gently wavy surface. Tatraglass will ensure you use the correct glass for the age of the building you’re working on.

Made with the antique method of mouth blown cylinder glass, our Heritage Mouth Blown glass sheet averages a thickness of 3mm.

Machine drawn sheet is made using the traditional Fourcault method, in use since the 1800s, to create the characteristic wavy surface inherent in this glass. Our Heritage Drawn 3, Heritage Drawn 3+, and Heritage Drawn 4.5, form the base sheet glass in this range. The numbers indicate the average sheet thickness.

MAKE IT ECO

To create conservation grade, thermally efficient panes we pair our Heritage sheet glass with high thermal rated glass with UV filtering, protecting fabric and artefacts from harmful UV rays, to create our Heritage ECO Laminated and Heritage Double Glazed ranges.

All our ranges are conservation grade and appropriate for historical building restoration.

Our expert team will guide you to the correct product for your building and window frames, as well as guide you to the information you’ll need to share with the Conservation Officer in your local Planning Department.
